The Ruwanwelisaya is a popular stupa in Anuradhapura built by King Dutugemunu in 140 BC. It is one of the sacred places for Buddhists all around the world. The stupa construction was done during Vesak (popular day for Lord Buddha's birth, enlightment, and the passing away).
The Ruwanwelisaya stupa stands 338 ft high and with the circumference of 951 ft. The stupa holds the relics of Lord Buddha.
